Varietal richness of grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) from the Majes Valley, Peru: Identification, morphological characterization, ampelographic and genetic analysis

The “Majes Valley” in the province of Castilla – Arequipa Region, with a tradition production wine and pisco, from grapevines introduced mid-sixteenth century, which are still preserved by some producers, little knowledge varietal richness they possess, generating confusion identification varieties devaluing their winegrower potential. In this work, survey was carried out wine-growing areas, characterizing local old vineyards, 14 primary descriptors recommended OIV-2009 genetically identifying sample 11 phenotypes use 9-SSR molecular markers when compared VIVC international database record.
